When you need this
Your site has to do more than inform: it has to hold attention long enough for a longer argument to land. A studio whose difference is partly in how its work feels, a product launch, a process a customer has to understand in order rather than skim as a list.
One honest limit first. Motion is the easiest place on a site to spend money without return. If it will not make the offer clearer, I say so, and the same budget goes into structure and speed, which will do more for you.
What I actually build
- Motion that comes from what the business is, not from what is fashionable this year. One rule is set at the start, and every movement on the site obeys it, so it reads as one thing rather than a collection of effects.
- Sequences that stay correct when the visitor scrolls back, resizes the window or opens the page on a phone held sideways.
- A version without motion for people who switch it off in their phone settings — some are made physically ill by it — and the page is complete without it.
- Speed measured, not assumed: on a mid-range phone on slow mobile data, because that is the phone in the car park.
Where this shows up in my work
The site you are reading. Scroll it on your phone, then switch motion off in your settings and scroll again: nothing is missing. No client build with this kind of motion is published yet.
What you get
A site that moves for a reason, still works when the animation cannot load, and stays fast on a customer’s Android rather than on my laptop. The motion is agreed against a speed budget before the first screen is built, so it never comes at the cost of the speed the page was bought for.
